Library plays a pivotal role in every educational institution. Library is not an organization by itself but an organism. To carry out the academic pursuits Library is vital. The Central Library of Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital, Balangir started with the strong determination of Prof. Dr. Lalit Kumar Meher, the first Dean & Principal and Prof. Dr. Manasee Panda, HOD Community Medicine, the first Officer-in-charge. The Library began with only 177 numbers of books and 10 journals donated by the Dean himself and the faculties. Upon receiving the grants from the Government of Odisha, Health & FW Department, Books have been procured and journals [both national & international] are subscribed.

Future prospects

  1. For development of hybrid Library with the acquisition of digital collections with print
    collections.
  2. Database and digital collection can be made available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
